Apple ipad Secrets: What Apple is Hiding Features: video chat, conferencing, adobe flash, and dashboard widgets. More thorough descriptions of the three secrets: The first rumor is the possibility of some sort of multitasking, maybe in a dashboard form, on the ipad. Kevin Fox from fury.com figured out that the ipads in the ipad promotion videos are missing six core applications which are Stocks, Weather, Voice Memos, Clock, Calculator, and Compass. As Kevin stated, these are apps that “wouldn’t know what to do with 1024 x 768 resolution if you gave it to them. Think about it, why would you need a 10 inch screen to use any of these apps? It is vary possible that Apple will be implementing some sort of a dashboard onto the ipad because of this. The second rumor is relating flash on the ipad. Most likely, there will be no flash. On the ipad demo video on apple.com, there was originally flash being shown on the new york times page. People figured this out and this caused a lot of buzz, so Apple changed it to have a broken flash symbol. A few days ago, the page showed the flash content correctly, once again. This, once again, caused a lot of buzz, and Apple fixed it, once again. Most likely, someone made a big mistake the second time by putting the old video back up, or there really is flash on the ipad. The third and last rumor is the best out of the prior two. This is regarding a camera and a front facing camera with video conferencing on the ipad. There has been tons and …

Previously, in-app purchases had only been available to paid apps, leading to a situation in which developers had to create two versions of the same app if they wanted to offer a trial version of a paid app. Customers had no way of upgrading without downloading a second program, and no way to share data between the two versions of the app.
The change will be a boon to developers, who can now offer a direct upgrade from trial versions as well as offer virtual item sales within popular free apps. That’s been a lucrative source of revenue for some developers following the free to play, pay for virtual goods business model growing more widely popular in the video game industry.
That Apple has brought that possibility to its insanely popular mobile platform, and now improved it significantly, is surely good news for companies out there trying to capitalize on the App Store economy. Have you made any in-app purchases yet? If so, what did you pick up?
