If you’re logged into YouTube, you no longer have to worry about closing a long video and losing your place, or memory buffer. A new feature for logged-in users resumes videos over 20 minutes when you come back to them.
That in itself is a darned useful tweak, and eases the minds of those who have kept a browser tab open for extended periods, just to keep one’s spot in a long clip. Google Operating System also points out another persistent YouTube feature, logged in or not: HD and high-quality buttons now remember your choices, so videos with HD or high-quality versions will automatically switch to those formats when played. Combine these built-in tweaks with the YouTube-improving savvy of the previously mentioned YouTube Auto Buffer script, and Google’s video experiment gets a lot more friendly.
